i was taking a short drive to my nearest mcdonald’s in a 50km/ph zone. the lady driving infront of me was going 40km/ph which is 10 km under the speed limit. i unintentionally begin to tailgate the car as they would speed up to the speed limit and slow back down so i was having to follow their strange driving patterns. the lady then proceeded to slam on the breaks in the middle of the road to “break check” me which is considered illegal in western australia which then caused one of my dogs to fall off the seat and land on the floor of the car because i had to break so immediately. she proceeded to do this multiple times. at one point we approach a roundabout where she comes to a complete stop for around 10 seconds and not moving when there are no cars or traffic (also illegal as it is obstructing flow). i then honk the horn to indicate for her to go as she is not moving and then we begin to move. she breaks again in the middle of the roundabout which is also highly illegal. at this point, another car enters the roundabout from our right hand side (for non australians or countries without roundabouts, you must always give way to your right hand side which we were not doing as this lady had come to a complete stop in the middle) which causes me and my family to almost get t-boned from this random car. the car infront then drives off and happens to be going to the same shopping centre i am going to. i decide to confront her and she tells me i was tailgating her and i was not 2 seconds behind her when she was the one breaking continuously and going 10km under the speed limit. she then says she is a driving assessor and asked to see my licence (i didn’t, she isn’t law enforcement). i’m just wondering am i the asshole here? note- i am a new driver i got my licence about 4 months ago but that proves nothing accept i know the modern road rules and ive never seen this so called driving assessor at my local dmv.
