📝 Advice my father gave me about getting married.

This isn't your traditional AITA post, where people will (obviously!) slant a story so they come across as the sweet little lamb and the other person as the evil jerk.

No, this is about advice my father gave me before I was married in 1980.

And that was, very simply this.

"If you have any doubts, any doubts at all - then don't do it. It's better for the other family to believe that you're a complete jerk than to ruin two people's lives when it doesn't work out."

On April 23rd of 2025, my wife and I will have been together for 45 years.

If your relationship isn't working out for you, just move on. Somewhere out there is someone looking just for you.
