Hi everyone, I 19 F have a best friend/platonic soulmate Lauren 19 F who just got into a relationship. She and her boyfriend Daniel 21 M have been together for a little over 3 months and they’re doing amazing and I’m absolutely over the moon for her. He’s the best boyfriend a girl could ask for. Brings her flowers unprompted, actively plans or surprises her with dates, and love to talk and spend time with her. They genuinely can’t get enough of each other! And I’m so excited and I love this for her so so so much! I on the other hand am dating Isiah 23 M and we don’t have that kind of relationship at all. We’ve been dating for 1 year and 2 months and the only time we spend together is either when we’re fighting, or driving to school together. Even when we first dated it was pretty lack luster, but he has a great personality and treated me with all the love and respect in the world. We are both broke college kids so I don’t expect things like flowers or such on a daily basis just on special occasions. He’s only gotten me flowers one time and it’s because I asked for them. Isiah however does do things like clean and half groceries with me. We do live together though so that just makes sense to me. Honestly it feels like we’re more roommates than anything. Yes I know this is a me issue, yes I know that I probably shouldn’t feel this was, and no Lauren does not and will not know about this. I just want to know, am I the asshole?
