Months ago a friend of mine begged me to take these two kittens she had, she was keeping them in her bathtub. I saw the poor babies and took them, they were filthy and needed worming/ flea treatment etc. I’ve wasn’t even old enough to be eating cat food. I didn’t hold it against her at all because I figured she had 2 other cats she couldn’t afford to get spayed. Fast forward, a few weeks ago same friend posts that she is getting a pug puppy, which are pretty expensive AND prone to health issues and need a lot of vet care. She seemed hurt when nobody comments about her puppy, but this same woman still hasn’t spayed her 2 adult cats( who go into heat regularly) and she never gave me one dime toward the 2 kittens. I’m happy to say they’re both doing well and have been spayed and found homes but I’m pissed that she neglects some pets only to get another. If she asks me why I’m not happy for her getting a puppy I just might tell her but I don’t think it’ll do any good. Am I being asshole/ bitchy since I got saddled with hundreds of dollars to care for a the kittens she didn’t want? Not that I regret it but it certainly wasn’t in my budget.
