📝 AITA for buying a dress from a department store that I only need to wear for a 40 minute event and then returning it?

I just bought a dress today, and the store policy is as long as a certain tag stays attached they will refund the purchase. I know this comes with a moral dilemma side of things but at the end of the day it is NOT a small business (I would never) and I doubt my singular purchase is going to bankrupt the company. I am required to wear a formal dress and didn’t have one. I’m a college student with not a lot of money and I tried to thrift a dress but couldn’t find one. These dresses were a bit out of my price range and in order to keep paying my bills and tuition I can’t have purchases like this. Like the title says I literally only have to wear it for 40 minutes and that’s way to short of a time to justify such a big purchase
