Me F(18) and my boyfriend M(19) have been in a great relationship for the past 2 years; recently my boyfriend bought this cute monkey hand puppet that you might see in a kids show. Now objectively this puppet is funny, he often uses it to make comedic jokes whilst on facetime and overall its quite cute! However, over the past week he's utilised this puppet during serious conversation, in an attempt to lighten up the mood. It gets on my nerves as i will state something serious about my current life or even something silly like a joke I came up with and he will respond in complete silence; or move his puppet on the camera in some way. Even going as far as when i've had an issue with him he will apologise WITH the puppet. At first like I stated; it was cute! but over time I feel like he won't talk to me anymore without bringing the puppet into the screen.

Today I mentioned my feelings about the puppet 'stating it was very funny... but I'd like to hear MY BOYFRIEND respond sometimes.'
I wasn't sure if it was his attempt to dismiss my feelings and utilise it as an excuse to not respond.
AITA for kinda wishing he would put the puppet or perhaps get rid of it; its gotten to the point where i feel like he wont facetime me without doing some skit.
