I live with bf and am a college student working online daily. he graduated last year and I am still in school. His mom and sibling visited but can’t do much outside for their own reasons and are with us throughout the trip in our tiny apartment. my bf also works from home so we’re all here. There’s literally no issues but I have anxiety and as of lately with school, working and being sick— my anxiety and stress has been rampant. we come from different backgrounds and sometimes his mom will talk about not feeling “safe” around black people etc and I seriously don’t know how to respond because I myself have black ancestry though i’m white passing. so i think that this has been limiting my desire if you want to use that word, to really converse. I love my bf and he doesn’t think how his parents do, but he’s not gonna stand up or say anything let alone to his mom. So i’ve been going to dinner with them, and i’m very thankful they’re nice to me, but i won’t lie my anxiety and the off handed comments are making me seem quite recluse. also i have ocd in the form of obsessive thoughts and my bfs mom kinda pointed out all the things in our apartment that need to be fixed or cleaned and no it wasn’t mean it was in a helpful way, but i feel like a failure kind of. like im thinking they think ill be a bad wife/mom? Idk. any advice on how to cope? or not seem like a reclusive bitch? (i’m also an only child so im not used to constantly being around big families)
