I’m a SAHM with a toddler and am pregnant with baby #2. My SO WFH but doesn’t have to start until 8:30-9. Lately, he has been setting an alarm for anywhere between 4-6am. Ever since having a child and having my sleep stripped away and waking up to breast feed overnight for almost a year, I value my sleep like no other. Also, with being pregnant and chasing a toddler all day long, I’m tireddddd.
I’m ok with a 6am alarm (it’s the 4-5am alarms that make me upset) but sometimes he doesn’t get up and snoozes it a few times. 9/10, his alarm wakes me up too. He says “just go back to sleep” as if it’s a cake walk for me. I try to fall back asleep but can’t. Taking naps during the day doesn’t work bc it has to be the same time my toddler takes a nap, plus the housework won’t get done if I do that, and naps overall just make me feel groggy.
He responds with “you had no issues with it when I worked in person” and I try to explain to him that was during a time when we both worked and on my days off I could lay in bed for as long as I wanted to (pre child).
So if I am the AH, then does anyone have a solution for this or advice? I naturally wake up around 6:30-7. It doesn’t matter if it’s a weekday or weekend, my SO still likes to wake up early which wakes me up early.
