so, I (26F) have been married to my husband (28M) for two years. Recently he's been acting weird - staying late at work, being super protective of his phone, and just generally distant.Last night, he fell asleep on the couch with his phone unlocked. I know I shouldn't have, but I looked through his texts. I found messages between him and his coworker that were definitely not just friendly. There were explicit photos and plans to meet at hotels when he told me he was "working late."I woke him up immediately and confronted him. He went ballistic, saying I violated his privacy and that snooping is worse than cheating. He said if i trusted him, I wouldn't have felt the need to go through his phone in the first place.Part of me feels guilty for invading his privacy. Maybe if I had just asked him directly if something was going on, we could have talked it out? But then again, would he have admitted it? He's clearly been lying for months. My sister says I had every right to look given his suspicious behavior, but some of our mutual friends think I crossed a line and should've respected his privacy regardless of my suspicions.I'm staying with my parents now while I figure out what to do next. He's been blowing up my phone saying we need to talk about my "trust issues" rather than his cheating. So, aitA for going through his phone without permission, even though it confirmed he was cheating?
