📝 AITA for having a favorite cat?

let me start by saying i am a reptile girl, more specifically lizards. i've always loved reptiles but was never allowed to have any growing up. part of why i love them so much is because they're mostly independent they have their space i have mine and we hang out a few times a week and they dont make any mess. my family doesnt care for reptiles and dont really consider them as pets. the only one who shows interest in my lizard is my dad and the others a pretty uncomfortable around him.

we grew up with cats and i have loved every single one of them. eventually i was old enough that my parents let me get a lizard as long as i was the one caring and paying for it. i have never loved an animal more than i love him. but i still love our cats.

we have 2 cats. L is grey and has short hair. she's social and cuddly but still likes to have her space and she comes to us for cuddles when she wants and the rest of the time she'll just hang out around the house. P is younger, we got her as a tiny baby after my sister had been begging for a kitten and my parents said yes so L could have a friend when we aren't home. she's a dilute tortie with SUPER LONG hair. shes super clingy, no concept of personnal space. if you dont push her away she WILL smother you with her body and hair while looking for cuddles in bed. she needs attention close to 24/7 otherwise she will literally scream around the house until someone calls her over and picks her up. shes also obsessed with my lizard. tries to get to him through the glass. it became a problem and now my door is closed whenever im not in the room and as soon as she hears it open she sprints to get to the room before it closes back.

now, ive never really had an issue with cat hair before and P isnt the first long hair we've had. However... she has the longest hair i've ever seen and she looses SO MUCH of it. with the amount she looses daily you would think she'd be bald by now but no she is still extremely fluffy. her hair is EVERYWHERE and i am so tired of it. my clothes are alway covered in it, my bed too. if she's in a room you can bet there will be hair floating around in the air. there is hair in my food, in my face, in my makeup, in my mascara bottle every fucking where. at least once a week i will find hair in my lizard's enclosure. sometimes my lizard eats a bit of cat hair because it gets in his food. i cannot stand it anymore. one time i had to pull a hair that was sticking out of his cloaca.

so yeah the hair combined with the clinginess and the screaming... P isnt my favorite cat. L is. and my sister is pissed at me for it. because she think i bully her.

i mean sure, i push her away a lot because if i didnt i wouldnt be able to get anything done or breath. and yeah i dont like when she comes into my room because i dont want her messing with my lizard's enclosure. the enclosure's glass doors have scratches from P clawing at it to get to my lizard. and yeah i wish we would just shave her once in a while but my sister refuses.

i dont hate the cat. shes cute and i know she doesnt understand all that. but if my sister takes P with her when she'll go to college i wouldnt miss her at all.

am i the A hole?
