Ikr, doesn't make sense. But it does to my parents.
My dad was always controlling. Telling me what to wear, what to eat, how to walk, talk, sit, whom to talk, where to go.
And by whom to talk it's not like "don't talk to them, I don't think they're good." It's like "I don't like you talking to anyone, you eat my food, stay under my roof, and you'll listen to me."
Naturally I pulled away and would only talk when necessary. My mom's also controlling, but not that extrem and I learned to endure it.
My dad doesn't even like me laughing, he has slapped me before for just laughing, now I avoid laughing in front of him. My mom never did so I laugh sometimes in front of her.
This evening, I laughed and she said "don't laugh like that, it sounds bad" and when I asked her not to say like that she started saying things like "that's why no one likes you, you laugh like that, ungrateful b!tch" etc etc
Now I really feel like I'm the a-hole for laughing loudly...
