Last night was a stressful day at work so I asked my husband if we could go get some drinks to help me loosen up. For context, I don't drink alcohol much at all. Not even socially. Therefore, yesterday you can only assume my day was very bad. After I asked if we could go, he suggested us to go to Applebee's instead. I agreed and we got there. After ordering, our waitress got us 2 tall glasses of water with ice ans she set that down for us. I decided to take the first sip directly from the lip of the cup and my husband slapped my hand away. He said I shouldn't have drunk water directly from the lip of the cup because the cup could have been dirty. He wanted to wait to see if the waitress would come back with straws first. I told him, the cups are sterilized and cleaned before using at a chain like Applebee's, and frankly he was really rude to slap that cup out of my hand after I've been running around 9 hours after work and I just wanted to drink water. He claimed he was just looking our for me. I disclaimed i understood his gesture, but I dont appreciate him slapping that cup out of my face. He got pissed and gave me attitude. I told him, he's being irrational. We got mad at each other for the rest of the night. He threw a pissy fit this morning saying, I was immature for leaving the night on a bad note. He also projected his anger at me for not "helping around the house."

At the end I told him I wanted nothing to do with him and for him to go do whatever he wanted because he's an ungrateful asshole who does nothing around the house and uses mental health issues for an excuse to not do anything like laundry or chores or helping relatives out. For context, I've told him to do the laundry and fold the clothes WEEKS ago and he still did not do it. All he does is play games on his computer to "unwind from his mental load and stress." He does not work. He is looking for a job, however with this economy nobody has been hiring so that is understandable. Just as a disclaimer.

For him, he says i don't do my part and my role as a daughter in law cleaning and cooking around the house even if my excuse was i have a steady job. I gave him attitude first, I was giving a resting bitch face in public and because I spoiled the mood the entire night.

So am I really the asshole here?
