Hi

Im(28m) and my wife(29f) are married for about 3 years.

My MIL passed recently and my FIL now lives alone.

He is unable to cook so my wife makes extra dinner and takes it with her when she visits him everyday to check on him

So my FIL gave her money for that food(even though he totally dosent have to), says its payment for my expenses for the gas and food for the past month.

I told my wife I can't accept this money and he dosent have to pay for anything. Wife said he won't take it back and I should just take the money because I worked for it anyways and it came back to me.

I told her she should just return it and tell my FIL I am happy to help anyway I can and he dosent have to pay.

She got a little mad and said she can't go back and give him the money because that would upset him and she can't keep the money either so I should just take it.

AITA here? Should I just take the money?

(Sorry for my bad english, not my first language)
