This morning, my sister texted me saying she forgot to lock the door. I was still asleep, but her text woke me up. I replied, “Sure, I’ll check when I wake up,” and went back to sleep.
A few hours later, I got up and went downstairs to find the front door wide open. It was only halfway locked and it wasn’t even fully closed or properly secured.
I texted her to let her know, and now she’s mad at me because I didn’t check the door right after she messaged me. She’s saying I should’ve made sure it was locked since I was home.
From my point of view, she was the last one to leave. She forgot to fully close the door. She forgot to lock it. And she didn’t really say, “Can you go check the door right now?” She just said she forgot. I said I’d check when I got up, and I did. I didn’t expect the door to be literally wide open.
Now she’s acting like it’s all on me. AITA?
