📝 AITA for not going to help my mom on my day off?

So for context, my mom kicked me out of the house in my first semester of college, last semester. I then moved into my friend's house with their family. Since my sisters still live with my mom, I've been going over once every other week to visit. But since this is my second semester, I still have a lot of classes and homework. and on top of that, I have a part-time job. the days I have off are Wednesday and Saturday. on Wednesday, I have a class until 6:20, so Saturday is the only day I don't have work or school, so I spend it doing laundry and other things I can't do through the week.

Well, not long ago my mother got a per gunnie pig. I've seen him and he is adorable. well, last week my mom asked me if I could help her clean his cage and with a couple of other things. I told her I would see if I could because Saturdays are usually for chores and errands. Well, today was super busy. I accompanied my friend's family to the farmers market and also had to go to the store for a few things I needed. I also did some cleaning, fixed a car, and had to do some outside work. then I helped with dinner and took a shower. around 8:33 pm, I got a message saying "thanks for coming over and helping". my phone was dead at the time, so I didn't see it until 9:29.

I haven't responded yet, I know I said I would try to come over, but even if I forgot, I feel like she could have tried to call or message me because she knows I'm busy and forgetful (or at least I hope she would, but not keeping my hopes up).
