Yesterday was a complete emotional rollercoaster. I found out that my girlfriend of over a year had been secretly stalking my ex on social media. She even created fake accounts to watch her stories and admitted she’d been doing it for months. When I confronted her, she broke down and said it was just “curiosity” and “insecurity,” but honestly, it felt like a massive breach of trust. I told her I needed space and asked her to leave for the night.

This morning, she came back in tears, saying she couldn’t sleep, that she only did it because she wanted to know what I liked before I met her. She begged me to talk, but I told her I’m still processing everything and not ready yet. Now she’s making me feel guilty, saying I’m being cruel and cold for needing space.

I just feel incredibly betrayed and overwhelmed. I didn’t yell, I didn’t insult her, I just calmly asked for distance to think. AITA for not immediately forgiving her or wanting to talk this through right away?
