📝 AITA for not telling my boyfriend that his mom used to be my high school teacher who made my life hell?

I (23F) have been dating my boyfriend (25M) for about 3 months. It's still new, but we've gotten close quickly and recently he asked if I wanted to come to dinner at his parent's house next weekend.

We were chatting about the plan casually and he mentioned his mom's full name. The second I heard it, my stomach dropped. I asked to see a photo just to be sure and yep.

His mom was my 10th grade English teacher.

She made my life hell.

She wasn't abusive in the obvious way she was passive-aggressive and deeply unkind in a way only certain teachers can get away with. Constant sarcasm directed to me, calling me "lazy" in front of the class, accusing me of cheating, rolling her eyes when I spoke. She even made a comment once about how I'd probably end up dropping out like my sister, which was a private family thing she should've never known or said.

I never really talked about it because I didn't think anyone would believe me. She had a reputation for being tough but fair.

And now I'm supposed to go to the dinner with her.

I haven't told my boyfriend. I don't even know how. It's still early in the relationship and he speaks so highly of her. I'm worried that if I tell him, he'll either think I'm overreacting or start questioning what kind of drama I'm bringing into his life.

But I also feel weird not saying anything. I've literally met this woman before every weekday for a year, in a classroom.

Would I be the asshole if I kept this to myself and pretended I'd never met her?
