I (22F) have a friend (24F), who owes me $300 from a loan I gave her about a year ago. At the time, she was going through a tough financial situation, and I didn’t mind helping her out. However, she’s only paid me back $100 and keeps promising to pay the rest, but it hasn’t happened.

Recently, she asked me for $500 to help pay for a vacation. I told her that I wouldn’t be comfortable lending her more money until she paid me back the $200 she still owes. I explained that I couldn’t trust she’d pay me back again without clearing the current debt.

She got really upset, saying I’m being "petty" and holding her past mistake over her head. She says I should just trust her and that this trip is really important to her.

I feel bad, but I don’t think I’m being unreasonable. Right?
