📝 AITA for refusing to let my neighbor's kid use my backyard trampoline?

I (29M) live in a neighborhood where most people kind of know each other, but we’re not super close. A few months ago, I bought a trampoline for my niece and nephew when they visit. It wasn’t cheap, and I’m a little paranoid about someone getting hurt on it.

The neighbor’s kid (about 8 years old) saw the trampoline and has been begging to use it. His mom even came over and asked if it would be okay if he used it sometimes “since it’s just sitting there most of the week.” I told her politely that I wasn’t comfortable with that — if he got hurt, it could be a huge liability for me.

She rolled her eyes and said I was being ridiculous and that “kids will be kids.” Since then, she’s been giving me cold looks whenever we pass each other. The other day, I even overheard her telling another neighbor that I’m “selfish” for not letting the kids enjoy it.

I get it — it’s just a trampoline — but I don’t feel like I should have to risk getting sued or pay for damages just to avoid being called selfish.

AITA?
