Yeah. This is exactly as gross and messed up as it sounds. I (19F) live at home with my mom and her husband, and his son, Samar (17M). We’ve been one big “happy” blended family for about three years now. I’ve always thought Samar was a little awkward, but harmless. We weren’t close, but I never felt unsafe around him… until last week.

So here’s what happened: I came home earlier than usual from work and headed to my room. I noticed my door was slightly cracked open, which immediately made me pause, because I always shut it tight. I push it open—and there he is. Samar. Sitting on my bed. Holding a pair of my underwear. Sniffing it.

I froze. He didn’t even hear me at first. I legit had to say his name twice before he jumped up like he’d been caught with a bomb. His face went pale. I didn’t even know what to say—I just screamed, “WHAT THE F*** ARE YOU DOING?” He stammered some bullshit like, “I’m sorry, I was just looking for something,” but it was already too late. The damage was done. I grabbed my underwear back, shoved him out of my room, and locked the door.

I didn’t tell my mom or his dad. Not yet. I’m still not sure how. But I was so disgusted, furious, violated—I needed something to release that rage. So, yeah. I marched into the living room later that night, grabbed his precious PS5 (which he brags about nonstop), took it outside to the patio—and smashed it on the concrete.

He screamed like I’d killed his dog.

Now the whole house is in chaos. He’s sobbing to his dad about how I “attacked” his stuff for no reason. I haven’t told them what really happened yet, but I might. I’m still trying to decide if I want to deal with the fallout of it all.

I know it was petty and destructive. But I don’t feel bad. Not even a little. You violate my privacy like that, you lose your favorite toy.

So yeah. That’s my story. Stepbrother’s a creep. I’m sleeping with a chair wedged under my doorknob now. And I don’t know what the hell I’m supposed to do next.
