I(M45) have been dating Freya(F24) for about a year.

Recently I introduced her to my family and let's just say they don't approve. They keep telling me that she is a gold digger and I'm an idiot for not seeing that.

I do see that, I just don't see why that is a problem. I like having a younger girlfriend (most women my age can't have kids anymore and i want a very big family) and she likes my money. It was never a secret between us.

I also know that I love her and she has fallen in love with me, which is what matters to me.

My family think I'm wrong for dating her and wasting my money on her. I eventually just snapped and told them that I'd rather spend it on her than spend it on them. They always need money for something and frankly I genuinely don't care if my mom's cat is dying and she needs money for the treatment or if my sister's kids need new shoes and they can't afford it.

They called me an asshole.
