I(M26) have been dating Kaia(F21) for about a year. A few days ago I took her to my sister's wedding. This was her first time meeting my family.

My sister(F18) (other sister, not the bride) didn't seem to like Kaia. She constantly made snarky comments about Kaia's clothes. She wasn't wearing anything white or anything like that but her dress was probably more expensive than the bride's dress and she looked absolutely stunning and apparently you are not supposed to look good in other people's wedding because my sister was annoyed.

Kaia ignored her the whole time. She is not always polite but she knows that it's important for me that she gets along with my family so she was trying not to be rude.

Eventually my sister asked her if she is mute and Kaia snapped and told her that she is not mute, she is just trying not to make my sister cry because she is confident she can do that in less than 2 minutes. Then she added that "Some of us naturally look good and can't look like a crocodile even if we try"

It was probably my fault because I had mentioned that my sister is insecure about her big mouth but it was months ago and I don't even know how she could even remember it.

Sure enough they started to fight and I took Kaia's side and told my sister that she started the fight. She can't insult people if she doesn't want to he insulted.

Now the whole family is calling me names and it's safe to say the whole "get along with my family" plan is not gonna work.
