Is it normal for a boyfriend’s female friend to send him an email? Can someone please explain what possible reasons there might be for doing so?

I can’t help but feel uneasy. Just a day ago, my boyfriend’s female friend commented on his latest Instagram post saying, “Check your email.” I found it a bit odd.

Why would someone choose to communicate via email instead of using WhatsApp, Instagram DMs, or any other direct messaging platform?

For context, my boyfriend is involved in drug dealing and bootlegging. So naturally, I’m wondering—could their email exchange be related to drugs or alcohol? Do people actually communicate with friends over email casually?

Please don’t give me the usual “just ask your boyfriend” response. I’m asking for your honest opinion before I confront him.
