📝 AITA for wanting a key to my bedroom

I am 21F living at home with my parents until I finish my degree (Professional masters in Education) and will be moving out asap. Recently after a conversation with my therapist about feeling monitored (my parents track my location via find my iphone, come into my room at random, ask who I'm with etc) I asked for a key to my room. My mam said that this is against the house rules. She comes in to make sure it is clean enough but a single item out of place is enough to set her off. She has threatened to throw all of my things in the bin which includes work that is required for the completion of my education and crochet projects that have taken me months. Everything but my bed and my wardrobe has been bought with my own money. I also have a boyfriend who comes over sometimes and they check to make sure we "arent doing anything we shouldn't be". Again I'm 21 an adult and wouldn't be doing that with people in the house anyway.

My mam says that I am the biggest cause of stress in the house. I don't see how that can be the case when I spend all my time doing my degree, at work, or crocheting. Yeah I can be a little untidy but not near as bad as they make out.

Is it that strange that I want a bit of privacy. My therapist says that not having a key is an infringement on my privacy and my dignity. If my parents throw out my things should I sue them if the total cost is high enough? AITAH
