We'd been together for a few months, and one night, after a bit of drinking, we decided to try something new. We didn't have a condom, and it was a bit impromptu. We tried anal sex, but it didn't go well. I found the experience a bit painful, and it made me uncomfortable. The next day, he became super distant. He continued to be nice to me, but he seemed a bit turned off, almost as if he was ashamed. I asked him what was wrong, and he told me he was disgusted by the situation, that he was afraid of getting an infection, and that it was messier than he imagined.
I sensed a huge sense of embarrassment from him, and as the days went by, he became more distant. We stopped touching, and he avoided any more intimate conversations. He told me everything was fine, but I never felt like he was being sincere. At one point, he completely stopped responding to me the way he used to, and I felt like he didn't see me the same way anymore. Then, after several days, he told me he didn't want to continue with me. He explained that he felt bad for doing something that made me uncomfortable and that he hated himself for pushing me into it, thinking it could be something good. It was a shock to me. He decided to break up, saying it was for the best, even though he felt guilty. Since then, I've been trying to understand what changed in him and why he reacted the way he did. Maybe he wasn't ready for that kind of experience, or maybe I misinterpreted his expectations. Has anyone ever experienced an ex walking away from you after a sexual attempt that didn't go well? It's hard to accept, especially since I thought we were headed in the right direction. Now I'm just lost.
