I am a 15 y/o girl with a larger body type.

A boy in my class has been selected in the student committee but the problem is that he bullies people. He has called my friend's mother a slut and has fatshamed another friend of mine to the point where she breaks down in the councillor's office.

My school has started an anti bullying squad but the committee will be involved. My friends and I wanted to go to the principal with all the things he has said to us. He has bodyshamed my friends and I since two years and we have had enough. Tomorrow is the ceremony to introduce our student council and we want to go to the principal with our complaint before it.

A friend of mine told the councillor about all this and she said they will take strict action against him. This means he will be publicly humiliated in front of the 9th and 10th grade and he will be stripped of his role in the committee. He and his friends are mad at us for speaking up but this has affected our mental health too much.

Imagine being bullied for two years and going to vice principal and STILL no action being taken.

It really puts the phrase 'boys will be boys' into perspective. Just because I'm a little overweight does NOT mean my mental health should be put down cause a boy thinks it would be funny to make a few jokes.

Am I the asshole here for standing up for myself?
