I’ve had a situationship with my best friend for almost a year now. We’re on opposite sides of the country we’re currently in and haven’t seen eachother in about 4 months. He and I have both been going through personal issues and so about a month ago we decided to call off the situationship and just be friends platonically. Then one of my guy friends and I had been talking about two weeks after this incident and I realized I really like him. I started hanging out with him more so as to decipher if these were legitimate feelings I had for him. Once I knew that I do truly like him and want something with him I told him how I felt. He feels the same way so we’ve been dating since then. Well yesterday I told my best friend that I had started dating this guy and he flipped out. But when he and I discussed being just friends he had told me he hoped I find a good guy who treats me right and that I deserve the best. Well this guy I’ve been dating has been nothing but great so far and I’ve known him longer than my best friend. Now obviously with the new dynamic things could be different. But so far so good. And my best friend knows this guy and has agreed before that he’s chill and a good guy. Yet he still got angry and told me I think he’s a joke and that I hurt him and told me to go f*** myself. AITAH?
