I met this guy i few years ago at a work event. We had good conversations with each other and decided to stay in contact. We live across the country from each other and mostly communication through text. About a year ago he told me he was interested in dating. I agreed because i liked him as well. I was supposed to go visit him for a few days but life happened and we ended up cancelling.

We lost contact for a while. I text him occasionally to see how he is doing. He has been in my area a few times. One time i didn’t see his text in time. The other time he was working late, i was trying to stay awake to go out to dinner with him, but we ended up reschedule again.

I know we had the conversation about dating but it was one conversation and i thought time had gotten in the way, so i was ok with having a friend to talk to.

I texted him yesterday and he mentioned being in my area last week and he was sorry he missed me. I replied back that was fine we would see each other time. He texted back basically saying he was annoyed i kept avoiding him.

I was caught off guard. I told him i didn’t think i was avoiding him, but just outside factors had prevented us from meeting. We plan to talk over the phone because i told him there appears to be a lack of communication here. I like him but he responses really caught me guard and appears off.
