I'm really not sure if I'm being really delusional or if I am actually being a huge dick so I need you to tell me. My stepdad and I have a pretty rocky relationship. Most of the time he ignores my existence but when we do talk it tends to end up turning into arguments. The arguments stem from him saying a derogatory comment about LGBTQAI+ people INFRONT of my gay and transgender sister. The comments are always about how he supports certain people in power who are very much anti gay, anti trans etc and how he doesn't give a shit how it affects my sister. I always call him out on his comments which upset him as I'm just an "uneducated girl" so he starts to spew more bs which makes me pissed and turns into an argument between us. My mum has told me that my stepdad is scared to speak to me now because he might upset me and make me start shouting and that I'm being an asshole. I'm sorry if this makes no sense I'm very sleep deprived but can't sleep because this is weighing on me. Thank you for reading this mess.
