Okay, so I (24F) have been dating my boyfriend (26M) for about a year now. He works long hours at a physically demanding job, and I totally get that he’s tired when he comes home. The thing is, I’m a very affectionate person, and one of my favorite things is just cuddling up together.
Lately, he’s been getting annoyed when I ask for snuggles as soon as he walks in the door. He says he needs time to “decompress” and that I should let him relax first before throwing myself at him. I don’t think I’m throwing myself at him—I just want a little affection after not seeing him all day! I even told him I’d be fine with just a quick hug and then he can do whatever he needs. He still acts like I’m asking for too much.
I feel like a relationship should have a balance, and I don’t think asking for five minutes of cuddles is unreasonable. But now I’m wondering if I’m not respecting his needs. AITAH?
