A few years ago we found this stray cat and took her in, whenever she had to use to bathroom she would scratch on the door to go outside. Due to this my mother decided to not get a litter box. However, sometimes or often times, we are not there to let her out, so it became a habit for our cat to use the shower as her personal toilet.

I have talked to my mother about getting a litter box for her. But in her words, she doesn't want a litter box because she doesn't want the litter box to stink up the room it is occupied in. I suggested my brother's "room" since her NEVER uses it, he rather sleep and use the living room as his room. His "room" is vacant and used as a office or private space, that's how much he uses it.

Again my mother insisted that it's better to use the shower and clean it everytime she uses it, because we have "no room", it's better than having a litter box stink up the room, our cat shit on the carpet, and has faith that one of us will be there in time to open the door for her before she uses to shower.

After arguing with her now I asked my brother if he agreed with mom and AGREED. He says that he still "uses" his "room" and doesn't want it to stink, when he only uses it to get his clothes from his dresser and that's it. Nothing else. And they both agree that I should use my room for the litter box, even though they know I'm very private of my space and that again, MY BROTHER DOESN'T USE HIS ROOM

And the worse part is my mom gets mad at me when I don't want to clean the shit from the shower, when everyone else does. I do not want to contribute or encourage our cat using the shower as a litter box WHEN WE USE THE SHOWER TO CLEAN OURSELVES! All our problems with our cat potentially shitting on the floor would be solved IF WE USED A DAMN LITTER BOX! I can't take this shit anymore!
