Context because the title might not make sense.So basically it all started weeks ago, I asked my band director if I could become drum major or section leader and he was all in, until some of the juniors and seniors were pissed because there were freshman in leadership positions. So like 2 weeks later he tells everyone in band class that only uprising juniors and seniors can take leadership roles, which in all validation, pissed me off. Fast forward to today. It’s the end of band class and me and my friends (who are drum majors) are talking with my band director on who’s going to be assistant drum major with my friend, lets call her Apple, because the head drum major Kiwi is graduating. At first my director didn’t say but i figured it out, it was my section leader. Understandably I got upset, because the only juniors are either leaving or simply hate our band and don’t wanna do it. He starts being unfair to my other friends which is a whole other story on itself and honestly I’m just upset. So I ask again I’m like “band director name can I? I get I’m not junior but i’m capable!” And he says it’s “unfair”. Unfair my ass, it’s unfair to the people who ACTUALLY WANT to be those positions, but can’t because they’re “too young”. I have been marching for 3 years, playing my instrument for 5. I’m more than capable too, but my age holds me back. AITAH?
