I 20F and my ex bestfriend (we will call her Emily) 21F have been friends since we were children, we were super close when we were in primary school but when we got to secondary school we both joined different groups, I was more involved in the group that liked make up and partying and Emily was in the more sporty group. we still remained relatively close due to our parents being friends, but we didn't really talk in school. In year 10 (age 15) I started dating a boy (who is now 21M) let's call him Tommy. Me and Tommy had a regular high school relationship and it even continued after we left school. Tommy went to University of Sheffield and I ended up at University of Birmingham we kept the long distance pretty well, Emily also went to the University of Sheffield.

Overtime, Tommys messages became dry and he stopped putting in the effort, I also noticed things such as him and Emily had become pretty close and they were together a lot, one time I decided to surprise my boyfriend at uni, so I knocked on the door of his accommodation and Emily opened the door wearing a g string and one of Tommys tops and Tommy was wearing nothing except boxers, I knew what had gone on and I just left with our saying a word and took a train back to my parents home, I blocked Tommy on everything and didn't speak to Emily again. I went back to university and started to live my life again - now single. During Christmas time I went back home and on Christmas Eve me and all my friends went to the pub, at the pub Emily was there with one of her friends, she tried to speak to me trying to explain but I wasn't having it, later that evening she got pretty drunk and was yelling things at me like you backstabbing c*nt after she had repeatedly verbally abused me I went outside to the car park for some fresh air and she followed me, she started to yell and cry but still calling me things like a wh*re so I grabbed a brick and smashed one of her car windows and told her to shut up and leave me alone, I did feel like smashing her window was a bit far but at the same time I think what she did was awful I also didn't want to start a fight I just wanted her to ignore me and get the message I didn't want to speak to her.
