I 22f and my boyfriend 24m plan on visiting a friend I’ve known for a few years 25f next weekend before her and her boyfriend move to Canada (we live in the southern US). We have never met before we know each other online.

I noticed my cat was acting strangely and we took him to the vet and they told us he had cancer. obviously that was devastating, and my partner and i decided traveling is not ideal right now so we canceled our trip.

My friend and her husband both told us it was really rude to cancel such short notice because they had set everything up and already made an itinerary of what they wanted to show us.

Now she’s really pissed off at me and is saying I don’t value her friendship because I canceled our trip short notice, and I feel like I am the asshole for canceling plans we’ve had for weeks.
