As the title says , I(f18) have started to ignore everyone else's birthdays. For the past 3 to 4 years there has always been some sort fo conflict on my birthday to the point ive stopped asking for anything or even celebrating it. Either my mom starts an argument and we ignore my birthday Or like my last birthday she invited family over and shows them around, kept offering to buy their daughter things. we went to an Indian place for dinner , knowing that i absolutely hate Indian food, and walked around for about an hour and a half to find place their children would like. . She then gave me £40 as a present days after my birthday. I never explicitly said I don't wanna celebrate my birthday but I just don't like going all out. I just like a small present and some cake. This year on my brother's 14th birthday she asked me to bake a cake and I did. I baked a chocolate sheet cake with frosting and she kicked off because birthday cake is supposed to have layers ,no one ate the cake and we didn't celebrate the birthday, my fathers birthday yesterday I did the same I decided to go on a kayaking trip even though my brother opted out for his birthday. I bought him custom leather gloves for gardening and left it at that. My mom was quite angry about this and said I should to be more like my brother who skipped on a trip for his father . I don't really feel bad because if my birthday is insignificant to the point that they can ignore me the whole day then I'll treat their birthdays the same. Aitah?
