It was prom, and I was bored—I wasn’t really into their music, I just didn’t like that slow love song. I didn’t have any fun games on my phone, and I’m not really into social media, so I just listened to my own music instead. I did clap at the end, though.

I remember this because a friend of one of the band members noticed me doing it. We were sitting in the very back across each other, far from the stage. Now every time I hear that song, or both I’m reminded of this memory from months ago.
