My mom had me at 24 and met my stepfather one year later and divorced my dad. She remarried and had another child (my half brother). My mother is a very successful woman and was also born in a respected family. She is a well known figure. My stepfather was just... her husband. He got a lot of good positions too thank to her.

My stepfather is the kind of man who you would call very good looking. At 43 he looks like 33. My mother always felt proud to be with him. She was possessive and every woman was her potential enemy.

Some months ago they got divorced but never told me why. My younger brother seems to know more.

In February, my stepfather accused publicly my mother of taking money for a case that ended very nasty (my mother works in a very high position in the IegaI system). Rumours say he received money in exchange for this information. In ended up being a he said she said. My mom was never accused officially. But was shocked how he humiliated her, stopped eating, became depressed. He kept talking bad things. Like she made it because he supported her and stayed at home with my brother when he was a baby so she can grow in her career.

She denied the accusations, but asked him to also tell people how he was beating her for years and body shaming her. Some people believed her, others said the time was too convenient for her to accuse him of all this. My brother was on our mother side and stopped talking to his father at all. He said he believes her ( I edited this part because i worded it incorrectly. My mom said that "his father" is a low life narcissist." Not my brother)

My stepdad started dating immediately after divorce, someone from our close circle, someone who was actually working for mom for a while as a secretary or something. I told my mother about it and she said she doesn't care. She is just glad she is rid of him and his and someone else has to deal with him. I don't know who to believe. I find it suspicious. He can be explosive but I don't think he can hit a woman.
