My (16F) completion ceremony was yesterday, me and my father planned it all out together and that he will be the one to accompany me. The day of the event my aunt keeps pestering me that if ever my father doesnt show up my grandparents will be the one to go and to send her a text whenever my father doesnt show up.

Around 1pm, he sent a text saying that he cant go because of work matters but the event was already starting, and I decided not to send a message to my aunt, as the event was already starting and it would be a hassle for my grandparents (note: my grandpa has arthritis and can barely walk, and my grandma is not a fan of walking or going to events with a crowd of people.) so I had a close friend (17M) accompany me get all my rewards like diplomas, medals, and so on.

Later on as the event was ending I messaged my aunt that my father didnt show up, and that I was getting invited by my Gf's (16F) mother to eat outside as a celebration for us both. She blew up and got mad that I didnt send a text, and saying what will people think of her when I went to my ceremony alone without family and such. And that got me really sad and irritated, as she only cares for what other people think of her.

Fast forward to today, my aunt yelled at me for not sending her a message, and kept yelling at me how other people will think of her and such. To be honest, I didn't want her to be there at my ceremony, as she's a really control freak and only wants things to go her way. She nitpicks at everything I do and her being at my event would really ruin my day, my grandparents were really chill about it and never made a fuss.

So AITAH? should I havent sent her a text?
