Waiting to turn left at a light intersection (im third car, stopped at the stop line, two cars in front are in intersection). The light turns amber, first car goes, second car is a bit delayed making sure no red light runners, and then the light is about to turn red and im still at the stop line. She says "GO!" and i said "I can't, its illegal and extremely dangerous" as the other cars would have a green light and now accelerating before i would clear their path.

Context of situation: My spouse really needed the bathroom, the house is 30 seconds up the street after the turn:

Now shes extremely upset with me saying"I am not thinking about her or putting her feelings first", when i refused to make the turn.

Am I really the asshole? I feel like im taking crazy pills. I love her, but im not going to put us in a potentially dangerous situation to get hi especially when the passenger side she is on would get hit and she would potentially be injured?
