šŸ“ AITAH for refusing to let my friend "accidentally" spill red wine on my white couch to get the perfect shot for her Instagram?

So, I (22F) recently moved into my own apartment, and after weeks of decorating and arranging everything perfectly, I finally had my first ā€œrealā€ get-together with friends. It was low-key, just some drinks, music, and snacksā€”nothing too crazy. One of my friends, Sophie (23F), is super into photography and social media. I always thought it was cool how she could make anything look aesthetically perfect, but sometimes it gets a littleā€¦ extra.

Anyway, weā€™re all having a great time when Sophie comes over to me and says, ā€œHey, I was thinking it would be really cute if I spilled a bit of wine on your couch and then took some photos of it. You know, like a 'sophisticated accident' vibe. Itā€™ll look super chic and artsy for my feed.ā€

Now, Iā€™m not against the whole "creative content" thing, but I just bought this couch. It's white. And I know she was joking when she said it, but she looked super serious, and I just couldnā€™t bring myself to let her intentionally stain my new furniture for some Instagram aesthetic.

I told her no and said that if she needed to spill wine, she could do it on something else. She laughed it off, but the energy shifted, and the rest of the night was a bit awkward. She started making comments like, ā€œI guess some people just donā€™t understand art,ā€ and ā€œI thought we were friends, not just ā€˜furniture keepers.ā€™ā€

Now sheā€™s posting about ā€œhow she thought she could be spontaneous with her creative friendsā€ but apparently got ā€œshut down by a couchā€ and now I feel kind of bad.

AITAH for not letting her spill wine on my new couch for the perfect shot?
