📝 AITAH for refusing to "rent out" my dog to my sister-in-law for her maternity photoshoot?

My (19F) sister-in-law "Jessica" (27F) is expecting her first baby and is VERY into creating "the perfect aesthetic" for everything. (Her baby shower looked like a Pinterest board exploded.)

Last week, she texted me asking if she could "borrow" my dog, Milo, for her maternity shoot. Milo is a beautiful golden retriever and, yes, he's very photogenic. I assumed she meant taking a few cute pictures with him because she loves dogs.

Then she sent me her full "vision board" — and I realized she wanted Milo to pose as if he were her dog. Like, cuddling her bump, licking her face, being walked by her and her husband like he’s part of their little family.

I reminded her that Milo is MY dog and that he doesn’t know her very well. He's super affectionate but can get anxious around new people in unfamiliar settings.

I said no, nicely at first. Jessica blew up. She said I was "ruining her dream shoot" and accused me of "gatekeeping love and family energy" (???) by not letting her use Milo. She even offered me $100 to rent him for the afternoon.

When I refused again, she had a full meltdown, called me selfish, and said I was "punishing her unborn child." 🙃

My brother is now asking if I can "just suck it up for one afternoon" to keep the peace.

But honestly, it feels super weird and uncomfortable to me. He's my actual living dog, not a rented prop for a maternity fantasy.

Now the family is whispering that I’m "jealous" because I’m single and don’t have a kid. (I’m literally chill being single.)

AITAH?
