My wife and I have been fighting a lot lately. No matter what I do, it’s never good enough for her. Tonight, she was screaming at me again, then suddenly grabbed her phone and threatened to call DSS (Child Services) on me.

I saw her start texting, and I panicked. I love my son more than anything—I can’t lose him. Without thinking, I slapped the phone out of her hand.

She’s now calling me abusive, but I was just scared. I didn’t hit her, but I know it was still wrong. AITAH for reacting out of fear?
