My friend and I met at work, as we would always be paired up and we developed a close friendship over time. We eventually requested to always work together and he asked me if I would be friends with him if we never met through work. I told him no as I’m a shy girl who doesn’t really like talking to people as I like to keep to myself. He got offended and I’m not sure if I did something wrong. He did tell me he understood why him approaching me in any other setting would be difficult for me to accept but still seemed upset. I usually don’t like talking to men and keep my friend group small and he knows that. So am I the asshole?
