I (15f) have three siblings (14f), (16f), and (21m). We live out in the country in a red state town and my family is Christian. This is important for later. My brother had a car accident a year ago and by some miracle only got his back hurt. He stayed with us and I thought it'd be for a few months (8 or 9 at most) to make up for lost time. It was going great for a while or so I thought. I won't get too into detail but my mother had asked him to get another job because he lost his apartment and job by missing work too much because of playing games too late... to which he blew up at her for. Afterwards she had told my dad and he got in trouble.

It took a few more months but he got another job and has been doing good with not being late. My whole problem started with him because he never helps us to pay bills, his new car payment, groceries or even just cleaning a little bit to help out us girls. He complained each time and tried to be as cheap as possible for everything, yelling at us or our mom for making him spend too much on something "useless". But each time he said that, his car would be piled with fast food trash he never took out or comic books.

The girls and I always got into multiple fights with him over that stuff and our father always told him that he should be a man and told us to pray for God to forgive him. Well lately he's been secretive, going outside more often and asking us of we'd seen the mailman and getting angry at our parents for asking for help because he's broke. And three weeks ago after coming home from school, my mother told us about him hiding packages and boxes under the sink, behind the couch, or even in his drawers.

I know it's bad but I opened one of his packages and saw some random girl from one of the Pokemon animes (I think) in a sexual position with someone's bodily fluids on and in her. It was gross so I showed my mom and we searched her up and her name was Marnie something. Me and my youngest sister looked through his things and found multiple characters either from his animes, TV series, or comics whether they were maybe like 7 to 14 (Azula, Ty Lee, and Mai from Avatar, Madoka and her crew, and a few others) to like however old Tsunade is all in positions. My sister had to back out twenty minutes in because she found all of it disgusting.

I continued looking because I couldn't believe how much porn stuff he actually had. Some of the photos were just like images (hand-drawn and ai) or small comic strips. The thing I found the most disgusting was a few of the comic strips had the girls getting assaulted and other degenerate shit. He knows our mother and I were both assaulted from trusted ones at a young age and he said he hated people like that. So why would he have that stuff?

Well this morning before school I told my dad about my findings and all he said was he'd talk to him and again, pray for him to get better. When I came home my brother was pissed and yelled at me for exposing his things he bought. He told me he was a just a boy and boys do this all the time which I don't think is true. When my dad came back from work I went into and questioned him about whether he truly got onto him. He said the same thing and that I shouldn't be worried because he'd never do that irl to women.and that he was just going through a phase like all boys do.

He's still mad and and won't talk to me without accusing me of being terrified of him now (which I am) and how I should know he'd never stoop that low. Now I feel conflicted because my dad says it's not that mad so aitah and maybe overreacted?
