My friends and I recently started a private server — just four of us, split evenly into two teams. Everything was going well at first, and we’d agreed on the team setup to keep things fair and competitive.
But then one person from each team suddenly left the group call without saying anything. When we asked what they were doing, they gave vague answers like “just getting resources” or “exploring,” but avoided directly answering our questions. It started to seem like they were secretly forming their own group, which would completely go against the structure we’d all agreed on.
We honestly wouldn’t have minded if they wanted to switch things up or play their own way — they’re totally free to do that. The issue was that they kept lying to us about it, refused to explain what was going on, and distanced themselves so far from the rest of the server that it made collaborative or competitive gameplay nearly impossible.
Eventually, I (as the server owner) used admin commands to teleport over and confirm what they were doing. He didn’t interfere with anything — it was just to check, since they wouldn’t tell us the truth. When they found out, they got really angry, started insulting us, and didn’t want to have a real conversation. We apologized for using admin powers, but they’ve been either ignoring us or acting passive-aggressive ever since.
We’re just frustrated because this was supposed to be a fun group thing, and instead of being honest or open, they hid what they were doing, lied, and then blew up when we tried to get clarity.
Any advice on what to do next would also be helpful.
