Okay, so, I'm 15. And my mother's 43. Me and my mother have always had a rocky relationship, not exactly in the way that we hate each other but in a way that we never spend time together. This is because she was always working. Now, she works as a cleaner in a school so she gets weekends and holidays off, right?

I'm a rather closed off person and I tend to not to tell people my problems. So, I've been wanting to spend time with my mom for YEARS. And I've never been able to. Back in 2019, she got a boyfriend, so all her time was spent on him. In 2020, covid hit and she drank all that time away+ there was no way for us to do anything in all honesty anyway.

But NOW? During a holiday, I'd say she'd have time, right? But, she has a new boyfriend and they're in the honeymoon phase, so they're constantly hanging out and drunk. I've been wanting to spend time with my mom alone because I've never been able to, especially because I'm 15 and we can actually talk comfortably now. Today, she noticed that I've I've in bed for the last 2 weeks because she only came home now (after a week.) And she told me we should go do something. With her boyfriend. I said no, and she kept persisting. I kept saying no. So, when she left I sent her a message basically telling her that I'd love to spend time with her, but not with her boyfriend. I've received no reply, so I feel like I've offended her. AITAH?
