To start with one of my pals went on a trip recently and told me he would get me a few things. I thought he would get me a 3-7 things and come to find out he got me around 30 items on this trip and told me I owe him over $100. We did discuss before he left for the trip that I would pay him back for what he got me so I expected to pay him back less than $50, not over $100. I’m also supposed to go to a concert with him later on and he offered to make me a t-shirt since he likes designing stuff and was really insistent on making me something so I told him knock yourself out. Then a couple days later he message me asking for payment adding on top of what I already owe him. I don’t mind paying artist for their work but I’m already stuck trying to pay him back for the other stuff that I don’t have the money to pay him for the shirt. Luckily he didn’t make the shirt yet so I told him not to worry about it.

I don’t want to sound like I’m wanting stuff for free. I don’t mind paying people back, but it’s having such big numbers dropped on me without being discussed beforehand, kind of bothers me. I’ve been trying to save up money for the concert and college but I’m now having to work to pay off my friend.

I tend to do a lot of stuff for him for free. I don’t usually expect payment for things and I feel guilty for asking. Of course I totally get people are different from me and I do intend on paying him back I just sort of wished he didn’t spend so much on me. Another thing I did mention to him to not get me anything expensive and that as long as it’s $50 or below is fine since I’m trying to pay for college so I figured all was well until I saw that number. I was wondering aith for feeling a bit annoyed over all of this?
