I want to preface this by saying I love my Mum and I'm pretty sure she would do anything for me which is why I feel a little bit like the AH.

I know others families on here are a lot worse so I should count my lucky stars.

Anyway, my Husband and I have recently moved and we invited my Family for a gathering last week. This was supposed to be an afternoon evening thing as we had planned a PJ and film night after.

Mum messages me after the invitation playfully saying her Husband had invited himself to stay. At that point I should have said we had later plans but they live an hour drive away and she's my Mum so I say they are more than welcome.

As soon as he arrives the comments start - about my outfit (nothing sleazy just he doesn't get why people wear blah blah blah these days). Have I got the correct ingredients for what I'm making, he doesn't like my sofa because his one at home is better, he doesn't like what's on TV. Also brought his own coffee because he remembered from last time that he doesn't like mine. I went to prepare him a soft drink and my Mum says "he won't like that" proceeds to tip it away and makes it how HE likes.

All I'm thinking is why the hell did he invite himself around if he wanted all of his creature comforts and also GTF out of my house. But I keep the peace for my Mum. You may ask what she is doing whilst this is happening - well, just rolling her eyes as if to say that's just the way he is.

They are already planning when to come around again. And in all honesty I don't want them here again. Unfortunately my Mum is included in this as she doesn't address his behavior or appear to think it's an issue.

So am ITAH?
