Hi, im very new to reddit and i hope this is the correct place for something like this. So I (M23) and my partner (F35) had a huge disagreement. I came home from work after a long day and she was watching some instagram video about someone asking questions to guys about who is most important in their life, their mother, their wife or their daughter, so my girlfriend asked me which one is most important to me, i said if i had a daughter it would be her, and she just said oh okay, and i didnt notice at the time but it upset her and she gave me a cold shoulder, i noticed it after like 30 minutes because she is usually very bubbly and chatty and i asked if anything is wrong... so she told me how could i chose my child over my wife and i said because its my child. They are literally half of me, and i would do anything for them, but that doesnt mean my wife and my mother isnt important, they are still very important in my life, then she got upset and said no you always have to choose your wife first to make sure she is happy because then the house is happy, i told her i obviously would still make sure she is happy. But the only scenario i pictured for the question is if we hypothetically were homeless beggars then i would with whatever resources we had care for the child first, then my wife and lastly myself which i tried to explain to her... i cant picture when else a question like that would realistically make sense. She got really upset and has been upset the whole night. I dont feel like i was wrong so maybe someone else could tell me if i truly am the asshole
