On Monday evening my (36F) neighbour (80ish f) was playing loud music at around 9:30pm. You could here it from everywhere in our house. At 10pm I went around to ask her to turn it down as I had to be up early for work (you could hear it from the end of her drive). I rang the door bell and waited. She came to the door looked at me through the window, locked the door, closed a curtain behind the door and ignored me. This shocked me. I went home and the music was switched off around10:30pm.

The next morning (Tuesday) I popped a note the door asking her to not play loud music on a weekday night and that I had tried to ask her to turn it down but she refused to talk to me.

Today (Sunday) she has just come round stating I put a rude note through her door and that I did not go round and asked her to turn the music down as her daughters cannot see me on the Ring door bell. When I explained what happened and that it was Monday evening she started getting very aggressive and rude.

Should I have just left it and not said anything?
